Her name is Florence Mwangangi. She is the mother of former Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 31 years of experience. She became the first woman to open a law firm in Machakos Town with the founding of Mwangangi & Co. Advocates in October 1990.
Florence Mwangangi served as Speaker of the Machakos County Assembly. Florence Mwangangi has consistently stood out as a paragon of integrity in diverse roles such as Private Legal Practitioner, Regional Bar Chairperson, LSK Council Member, Public Complaints Committee Chair, and Director of the National Council of Law Reporting in her phenomenal legal career, which is now in its fourth decade.
Mwangangi has been an exceptional member of the firm’s legal team for almost three decades. She has extensive experience in commercial disputes and conveyancing in the private law area. She has demonstrated expertise in Constitutional Law and Practice, as well as Devolution Law.

In October 2010, her passion for efficient judiciary saw Hon Florence Mwangangi make history as the first lady lawyer to be elected by LSK Members as their representative to the reconstituted Judicial Service Commission (JSC) under the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
At the JSC, she and her colleagues were responsible for setting up the foundation of the Commission as it stands today.
Florence Mwangangi has a Master of Laws (LL.M), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She concentrated on intellectual property, cyberspace, and telecommunications law throughout her LL.M.
She has maintained an intellectual and specialist interest in these growing legal fields, and she is the Past Convener of the LSK ICT Committee, of which she is still an active member. She is a lifelong law student and a familiar figure at LSK Continuous Legal Education (CLE) classes.
