Meet Faith Kipyegon Father – Mzee Kipyegon

Faith Kipyegon father Samuel Kipyegon Koech was a 400 m and 800 m runner in his youth, while her mother Linah Koech had also contact with athletics.

On Friday, at the third Diamond League event of the season, Faith Kipyegon ran the 1500 meters in 3 minutes, 49.11 seconds, setting a new world record for women.

The Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba established the previous record of 3:50.07 in 2015, but the Kenyan sprinter, winner of the last two Olympic 1500m golds and the world titles in 2017 and 2022 surpassed that time.
