Edwin Sifuna is a vocal leader under the Orange Democratic Movement Party and the current senator of Nairobi County.
Sifuna unlike many politicians has chosen to keep his wife away from the limelight and the only time they were together in public was in 2022 after he clinched the senatorial seat when receiving a certificate from IEBC.
Didi Wamukoya is his wife and a former classmate at the university.
Didi is a lawyer of the High Court of Kenya having been appointed as the counsel in 2007. She was accredited with a law degree and an environment degree from the University of Nairobi.
Didi is also a trained investigator with various law enforcement agencies in the field of wildlife crime. She has been with Kenya’s Wildlife Service for 7 years as head of prosecution.

When questioned about dynamics within their household, Sifuna described himself as laid-back, acknowledging his wife’s leadership role and educational achievements.
“She’s more educated than me. I respect her a lot and don’t argue with her,” he admitted. “Her upbringing in Loresho, where her father was an MP, shaped her.”
Sifuna underscored the value of having a supportive partner, praising his wife’s unwavering support even in the face of his political activism.
“Every man needs a solid person in their life. Sometimes, she reads messages on social media and laughs at the comments and DMs from other women. She’s not afraid even when I’m involved in political activism,” Sifuna remarked.
He further highlighted his wife’s role in providing comfort and encouragement, particularly during stressful times such as political engagements.
“When my mother feared for my safety during political events, my wife reassured her and encouraged her to pray for me,” Sifuna recounted, illustrating the strength of their familial bonds.
In a lighter vein, Sifuna credited his wife for introducing him to personal grooming habits, including the use of cologne and perfumes.
“I never used them before. She also introduced me to massages,” he humorously admitted, reflecting on the positive influence of their relationship.
