Jalang’o’s path to education was marked by financial hardships. Despite being accepted into Maseno School after KCPE, affording school fees was an uphill battle.
He eventually landed at Kanyago Secondary School, a local institution, wearing a uniform from his previous school due to financial constraints.
His journey was further complicated by his C+ grade in KCSE, which he humorously likened to a “D-Plain in Starehe.” With dreams of pursuing college, Jalang’o approached his parents, only to be met with the stark reality of their financial struggles.

His father’s response was disheartening, as he couldn’t afford to send Jalang’o to college after the sacrifices made for high school.
This news led to a bout of depression for the young Jalang’o, who felt isolated as the only KCSE student in his village not pursuing higher education.
However, Jalang’o’s story took a turn when he entered the fishing business and later moved to Nairobi in the early 2000s.
His determination and hard work eventually led him to a successful career in the entertainment industry, from acting to comedy, radio hosting, and now serving as the MP of Lang’ata.
Jalang’o’s inspiring journey exemplifies resilience and the ability to overcome adversity, proving that with determination, one can achieve success in various fields.
