First Assurance started its operations as Prudential Assurance Company PLC, a British Multinational Insurance Company that had commenced its operations in East Africa in 1930.
On 1st January 1991, Prudential Assurance Company became a wholly owned Kenyan Company and changed its name to First Assurance Company Limited.
The company provides various insurance covers among them personal and cooperate insurance.
First Assurance Individual Products
1. Travel Policy
It covers emergency medical expenses/hospitalization abroad, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of mortal remains, loss of baggage, delay in departure, legal assistance abroad, personal accident, and trip cancellation.
2. Motor Insurance
Motor Private – This policy covers loss or damage to the vehicle and its accessories including legal liability to third parties and passengers in respect of death or bodily injury arising from the use of the motor vehicle.
3. Golfers Insurance
This policy covers loss, destruction, or damage to Golf Clubs and other equipment, personal effects, loss, destruction, or damage by fire, theft, or any attempt thereat whist in Golf Premies or transit to thereto(Excludes Jewellery, money, laptops).
4. Political Violence, Terrorism, and Sabotage Insurance
It provides indemnity against loss and or damage to property, and business interruption arising from sabotage, terrorism, mutiny, rebellion, insurrection, and coup d’etat.
5. Blood Stock and Pet
The policy covers the animal that shall be kept by the Insured as a pet or for the purpose of security within the Insured’s household or for hire and reward as declared.

6. Home Insurance
It covers loss or damage arising from fire, lightning, earthquake, explosion, theft, impact damage from road vehicles falling trees, riot, strike/malicious damage, and alternative accommodation in the event of a loss.

8. Personal Accident Insurance
This policy compensates the insured or his legal in respect of Death, permanent disability, and temporary disability caused by violent, accidental, external, and visible means while on duty or off duty.

How to Pay First Assurance Premiums Via Mpesa
- Go to Mpesa Menu
- Select Lipa na Mpesa option
- Select Paybill
- Enter the first Assurance Paybill Number 898200
- Under the account number enter, your policy number and (Surname or First Name) for premiums or vehicle no/claim no and (Surname or First Name ) for excess then proceed.
- Enter the amount you wish to deposit eg Ksh.5,000
That’s it. By following these simple steps, you will receive a confirmation SMS from both Mpesa and First Assurance confirming your deposit.
