Safaricom Home Fibre Wifi Username and password (Change)

You need to change your Safaricom Home Fibre WiFi username and password but aren’t sure how to get it done. Safaricom Home Fibre has made changing the home fiber name and password easy for its subscribers.

You can enjoy Wi-Fi by simply acquiring a router and SIM card at any Safaricom Shop or dealer outlet. You can also visit internet.safaricom.co.ke or dial *400# to get connected. To purchase plans or manage your accounts, you can visit mySafaricom App, Safaricom.com, or dial *400#, and follow the prompts. Payment options include M-PESA, Post-Pay, or Bonga points.

Most Safaricom routers come with a password or WI-FI key printed at the back or bottom of the router, but the good news is that the router can be changed or updated anytime. To change your Safaricom Home Fibre WiFi username and password:

  1. Make sure your machine is connected to the router’s Wi-Fi
  2. Log into this portal on your web browser, type 192.168.8.1
  3. Enter User: admin or username indicated on the router
  4. Enter password: admin or password indicated on the router
  5. Input your preferred Username
  6. Input your preferred password
  7. Login to your devices with the new Wi-Fi Username and password
  8. Check that you have an active account by dialing *400# and selecting Check Account Status.

Using mySafaricom App

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to change the home fiber name and password using the mySafaricom app.

  1. Download and open the mySafaricom app.
  2. Tap Home Internet.
  3. Select the account you want to change.
  4. Tap on either of these options: Change Password, Change Name, or Restart Link.
  5. Follow the instructions as shown.

This feature is efficient because of the ease of changing the name and password within the app instead of having to log in to the portal or use the USSD to do such a simple task.
